Sugar That’s Good for You!

Sugar scrubs- a way to have your sugar without the calories. ? As everyone knows, sugar on the inside of you is very unhealthy, but sugar on the outside of you might surprise you!

Our sugar scrubs are a wonderfully, luxurious and healthy treat for your skin made of sugar, oil, and various essential oils. The perfect way to exfoliate dead skin, and leave it soft and supple. Super simple to make your own. There’s recipes all over the internet. Here are a few that we make:

Strawberry Surprise- this one is made with coconut oil, sweet strawberry extract, and lemon essential oils. It has hibiscus powder in it to give it a berry color. Kinda fun like a strawberry lemonade.

Warm Vanilla- this has white sugar and brown sugar mixed into olive oil, and we’ve added vanilla extract. Brown sugar is especially gentle to the face. If vanilla is your scent of choice, this one is for you.

Cafe-au-Lait- made with white sugar, coffee, olive oil, and vanilla extract. Ooo La La! This is more intensively exfoliating, and please be sure to rinse yourself off thoroughly or folks will think you have hairy legs from the coffee grounds sticking to you. ?

The caffeine in the coffee helps reduce cellulite, which is a huge bonus, but the best part is the smell. Wow. Talk about waking up to your morning coffee!! Mmm… ? Also, turns out that coffee grounds are an old remedy for keeping drains running clear. So, if you like your Java, this is a win win situation all around! Lol.

Honey-Citrus- made with a base of olive oil and white sugar, a bit of honey and vitamin E, and essential oils of orange, grapefruit and lemon. For me, Grapefruit and Lemon essential oils are toning to the skin and a wonderful way to lift the spirits.

Lavender-Mint Sugar Scrub! All natural ingredients. www.jordanscrossing.net/store/Lavender-Mint- this is our newest combination. Made with white sugar and coconut oil. We’ve mixed the calming, good-for-your-skin Lavender essential oil with invigorating and energizing Spearmint for a unique and very pleasant combination.

Now when you’re ready to use a sugar scrub in your shower, wash first as usual, then stir the mixture a bit with your finger and place a quarter-size amount in your hand and apply it directly to your skin, spreading it while briskly scrubbing in a circular motion.

You can use it on your face, feet, upper arms, etc. Be sure to keep it out of your eyes and ears. Rinse off with warm water before getting out of the shower.

Dry off your skin gently afterwards with a gentle blotting motion. This will allow your pores to absorb more of the oils. This is a great treatment for nails and hands. It’s also wonderful for tired feet at the end of the day! ?
